Responsible Gambling

What Is Responsible Gambling?

Responsible gambling means enjoying betting as entertainment while staying in control. It’s about making informed decisions, setting limits, and recognizing when betting stops being fun.

We believe betting should add excitement to sports and games you already enjoy. It should never become a source of financial stress, relationship problems, or mental health issues.

Signs of Problem Gambling

Recognizing warning signs early helps prevent serious problems. Ask yourself these questions honestly:

Financial Red Flags

  • Are you betting more money than you can afford to lose?
  • Do you borrow money to fund your betting?
  • Have you sold possessions to get betting money?
  • Are you hiding betting expenses from family?
  • Do you chase losses by betting larger amounts?
  • Have you missed bill payments because of betting?

Behavioral Warning Signs

  • Do you think about betting constantly?
  • Are you betting to escape problems or negative feelings?
  • Do you lie about how much time or money you spend betting?
  • Have relationships suffered because of your betting?
  • Do you feel restless or irritable when trying to cut down?
  • Have you neglected work or family due to betting?

Emotional Indicators

  • Do you feel guilty or ashamed about your betting?
  • Does betting cause anxiety or depression?
  • Have you tried to stop but couldn’t?
  • Do you bet more to get the same excitement?
  • Are you betting with money meant for essentials?

If you answered “yes” to several of these questions, you may have a gambling problem. Don’t wait—seek help now.

Tools to Stay in Control

We provide several tools to help you manage your betting. These aren’t just features—they’re safeguards that really work when you use them.

Deposit Limits

Set maximum amounts you can deposit over specific periods. Once you hit your limit, you cannot deposit more until the period resets.

Available limits:

  • Daily limit (resets every 24 hours)
  • Weekly limit (resets every 7 days)
  • Monthly limit (resets every 30 days)

How to set: Go to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling → Set Deposit Limit. Choose your period and amount.

Important: Increasing limits requires a 24-hour cooling period. Decreasing limits takes effect immediately.

Loss Limits

Set maximum amounts you’re willing to lose in a day, week, or month. When you reach this limit, you cannot place more bets until the period resets.

This tool is particularly effective at preventing “chasing losses”—the dangerous behavior of betting more to recover what you’ve already lost.

Session Time Limits

Set how long you want each betting session to last. You’ll receive a reminder when your time is up, prompting you to take a break.

Time flies when you’re focused on betting. This tool helps you maintain awareness of how long you’ve been active.

Reality Check

Receive periodic reminders showing how long you’ve been betting and how much you’ve won or lost. These pop-ups appear at intervals you choose (30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.).

Reality checks break the tunnel vision that happens during extended sessions. They force you to pause and evaluate whether you want to continue.

Self-Exclusion

Temporarily or permanently block yourself from accessing your account. This is the strongest tool available for problem gambling.

Temporary exclusion options:

  • 24 hours
  • 7 days
  • 30 days
  • 3 months
  • 6 months

Permanent exclusion: Closes your account indefinitely. This decision cannot be reversed quickly—reopening requires a minimum 6-month wait and approval from our compliance team.

During self-exclusion, you cannot log in, deposit, or place bets. Marketing communications stop immediately.

Practical Tips for Responsible Betting

Set a Budget

Decide how much you can afford to lose before you start betting. This should be disposable income—money you don’t need for rent, food, bills, or savings.

Write this amount down. Once you’ve lost it, stop betting for that period. No exceptions.

Never Chase Losses

Losing is part of betting. The house always has an edge in the long run. Accept losses and move on instead of trying to win back what you lost.

Chasing losses is how small problems become big ones. If you’ve hit your loss limit, take a break regardless of how you feel.

Take Regular Breaks

Step away from betting regularly. Use session time limits to enforce breaks. During breaks, do something completely different—exercise, spend time with family, pursue a hobby.

Breaks help you maintain perspective and prevent betting from dominating your thoughts.

Don’t Bet Under Influence

Never bet when drunk or under the influence of drugs. Substances impair judgment and make it harder to stick to limits.

Similarly, avoid betting when you’re emotional—angry, depressed, or stressed. These states lead to impulsive decisions you’ll regret.

Keep Betting Fun

If betting stops being enjoyable, stop doing it. Entertainment shouldn’t feel like work or cause stress.

Winning is nice, but it shouldn’t be the only reason you bet. Focus on the entertainment value of following sports and testing your predictions.

Balance Your Life

Betting should be one small part of a balanced life—not the main focus. Maintain your relationships, work, hobbies, and health.

If betting is taking time away from important areas of your life, reassess your priorities.
